Vitafin for Grok

Connecting lets Grok read the money you keep in Vitafin: accounts, each in its own currency, cards and their statement cycles, budgets, bills, splits and net worth. You paste one address and approve it once with your email and a six-digit code. Grok can then answer questions and draft entries for you. It takes about a minute.

Set it up

  1. Open grok.com/connectors and choose New Connector, then Custom.
  2. Paste https://vitafin.io/mcp as the server URL.
  3. Authorise: enter your email and the six-digit code Vitafin sends you, then press Allow.

Before you start

Custom MCP connectors are on Grok's paid tiers. On a free account the Custom option will not be there to choose.

xAI publishes no one-click install link the way Cursor and VS Code do, so there is no button we can put on this page. The address has to be pasted by hand.

What did I spend this month?

Grok reads your accounts and breaks the month down by category. Each account is totalled in its own currency; if it has to add two currencies together it says the figure is an estimate and gives the date of the rate it used.

Grok drafts the transaction on the right card. It appears in your review queue in the app, and it counts towards budgets and balances only after you approve it.

What is due before the 10th?

Grok lists the recurring bills and the credit card minimums falling in that window, with their dates and the account each comes from.

What Grok cannot do

  • Write straight into your books. Every transaction, edit or split an assistant produces lands in the review queue in the app first, and nothing counts until you approve it.
  • Keep access once you take it away. Open the device list in the app and revoke the connection, and Grok is locked out from that moment.
  • Reach your bank. There is no aggregator and no open banking here. Vitafin holds what was parsed from a bank SMS or bank email on your device, imported from a statement, or logged by you. No SMS permission is requested on any platform: you paste or share the message.
  • Quietly convert anything. Every account keeps the currency you gave it, and cross-currency totals are always labelled as estimates.
