I didn't need another app. I needed the busywork gone.
I have used trackers for years. Spreadsheets I built myself, apps I paid for, none of it stuck. The problem was never tracking a purchase. It was catching up: reconciling statements, filling in gaps, typing a year of history in by hand before the app was even useful.
Vitafin is named after a vitamin. Something small you take daily, so the bigger problem never gets the chance to show up.
I didn't want to build another app with AI stitched into it. So the AI isn't inside Vitafin. Vitafin connects to the AI you already use, through MCP, on whatever plan you already pay for.
I tested that by connecting my own ChatGPT and dropping in a year of bank and card statements from the UAE and India. It read every line, matched transactions to categories, asked me about the ones it wasn't sure of, and even set up who owed whom between me and friends, on its own. Watching a year of my finances assemble itself, in real time, on my phone, is the moment this stopped being a side project.
It still runs. A scheduled task now reads my bank emails twice a day and keeps everything current. No typing required.
